How do I produce a link from my site to a word/PDF document?
Here are the steps for linking to a PDF/MS Word document:
- In the Content paragraph that you want to put the link into click the "full Screen" button (If you hover over the buttons it tells you what they are).
- Once the content paragraph has expanded to the "full Screen" size highlight the text or image that is to be the link and then click on the "Insert Link" button.
- In the window which pops up there are 3 tabs along the top - select the "File Link" tab (the right most of the 3 tabs).
- Click on the "Libraries" drop down list and select the library that is the location of your document.
- Then use the "File" dropdown to select the PDF you want. If it isn't in here then upload the document to your library and then repeat the steps to point 5 and it should be there.
- Set the "Target" dropdown to "New Window" and in the "Title" textbox enter any text that you want to appear as a tool tip when you hover over the link.
- Press "Ok" in the pop up; Press "Done" in the full screen paragraph editor. Remember to "save" the changes to the page then publish the page.
